Competent historical mystery novel, but just didn't grab me. Really fast read though.

Set in Boston soon after the civil war, I found the historical aspect much more interesting than the characters or the mystery. And I'm not that much into historical fiction, so even that didn't really hold my attention.

Also I had the mystery more or less figured out quite far ahead, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Won't bother reading the rest of the series.
