Kiss of Midnight

Kiss of Midnight - Lara Adrian

You ever picked up a book and got through the first chapter and thought "that seems familiar. I'm pretty sure I've read this before."? And I'm not necessarily talking about copy-catting (this book is apparently really like that other vampire warrior brotherhood series with the ridiculous character names). I mean I literally have read this before and totally forgot.

It's just so completely generic it may as well be a category romance, and it's not even written so badly it's worth the effort of making fun of it, nor so well as to redeem the trite and derivative plot. And really, it is a copycat - every single thing in this book has been done elsewhere, and done better.

All of which to me is one of the worst sins a book can commit: Be provocative, be spectacularly awful, be fabulous, be something, but don't be completely forgettable.
