Blood Rites (Dresden Files Series #6)
At least Harry apologises for his chauvinism these days. Thomas is wonderful, Harry shows some real growth as a person, and finds out he's not invincible, coming out of this one with serious consequences. I found the plot a bit wobbly, but not as confusing as the first couple of books, and the world building and continuity are again very well handled. These last two are where Dresden really shines, it's internally consistent, and you never know who from earlier books will be popping up again or where.By this point in the series, picking up a Dresden book is like putting on a cosy cardigan - it ain't the most exciting thing in the world, but you know it'll do the job, and it's friendly and familiar.
